Criminal Court Information
In Siskiyou County, all felony cases are heard solely at the
court house in Yreka, California, while misdemeanors are calendared in either
Yreka or in Weed.

There are four Superior Court judges
in Siskiyou County. They
are: Judge Roger Kosel (presiding judge), Judge Robert Kaster, Judge William Davis,
and
Judge
Laura Masunaga. Judge Kaster handles the
in-custody calendar on Tuesdays, and Judge Kosel handles the out-of
custody calendar on Wednesdays. Judge Masunaga handles primarily the
misdemeanor calendar (Tuesday in Yreka, and Friday in Weed), whereas
Judge Davis handles the juvenile calendar. Any one of the four judges
could be the trial judge for any matter.
Arraignments for misdemeanors in Yreka are held at 9:00 a.m. on
Tuesdays, and all further proceedings are generally calendared for
1:30 p.m. on a Tuesday. For the Weed misdemeanor calendar,
arraignments are held at 8:30 a.m. on Fridays, whereas further
proceedings are generally held at 1:30 p.m. on Fridays.
