DUI - Driving Under The Influence of Alcohol
William Duncan has successfully defended many motorists charged with driving under the influence, aka DUI. He is experienced in spotting and exploiting weaknesses in the prosecution's case, and in obtaining the best possible results for his client. This goes from out-right dismissal, to negotiating a wet-reckless, to other types of disposition. Some of the alternative resolutions will eliminate the otherwise mandatory (per local court practice) minimum of forty-eight hours in jail, and suspension of your driver's license. The alternative resolutions may also save you well over $1,000 in fines, penalties, and related costs. At any given time, Mr. Duncan represents several motorists charged with DUI, and as such he is very familiar with the intricacies of DUI practice, and local practice in Yreka and Siskiyou County. He is also well versed on Breathalyzers aka Intoxilyzers.

If you are charged with a DUI in the state of California, the DMV will automatically suspend your license unless an administrative hearing is requested within ten days of being ticketed. If timely contacted and retained, Mr. Duncan will contact DMV and will make the necessary arrangements for an administrative hearing thereby preserving your rights.

If you are an out-of-state motorist, Mr. Duncan can advise you about interstate compact between some, but not all, states and the state of California, and what restrictions may be imposed upon your future driving within the state of California for a DUI conviction. It must be noted that the impact will depend, to some extent, upon the state that issued your driver's license.
